Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to explore Fox Glacier of all the things that we have to offer. Starting with a scenic flight over the glacier and up around Aoraki Mt Cook then followed by a half day walk or even some ice climbing. Gillespies Beach is amazing as it is a rugged West Coast beach and full of history to look at as well as the seal colony. If you are the more adventuress type you might like to try sky diving or even a heli hike.

When you come to the West Coast, 'Glacier Country' is a must do. Its only 2.5 hours drive from Shantytown.
Here in Fox Glacier we have the World Famous Lake Matheson which is a breath taking walk with reflections of Mt Cook and Mt Tasman in the water.
Try a Helicopter Flight over the Fox Glacier and see all the crevasses and Victoria Water Fall.
You may even like to do a half day or fall day glacier walk exploring the fascinating ice features and majestic pinnacles of the longest West Coast Glacier.
If you want to try something really extreme Sky Diving is a must. With a backdrop of the Southern Alps, Glaciers, Rainforest and the Ocean, it's hard to imagine a better place to jump out of a plane than Fox Glacier.
